1) India's Highest Tricolour Unfurled At Haj House In Mumbai
•Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi unfurled India’s highest tricolour on the terrace of the majestic Haj House in Mumbai. The national flag measured 20x30 feet and stood 350 feet above the ground level. 

•The flag atop a 20-metre high mast on top of the iconic building is near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in south Mumbai. The tricolour is made of non-fading polyester and manufactured by The Flag Company, which is famous for manufacturing big flags. 

2) Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman holds bilateral talks with her US, ASEAN counterparts in Singapore

•Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today held a series of bilateral meetings with her counterparts from ASEAN nations and US Defence Secretary James Mattis on the sidelines of ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meet in Singapore. 

•Defence Ministers from ASEAN countries and that of Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Russia, and the US have gathered in Singapore for the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) and the 5th ADMM-Plus, which is being hosted by Singapore.

•Ms Sitharaman also met her Malaysian counterpart Mohamad bin Sabu, Australian Defence Minister Christopher Pyne, Philippines' Secretary of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana and Vietnam Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich during her day-long meetings. 

3) Indo-Japan Joint Exercise 'Dharma Guardian' To Be Held In Mizoram
•To promote Military cooperation, India and Japan are all set to hold the first-ever joint military exercise 'DHARMA GUARDIAN-2018' involving the Indian Army and Japan Ground Self Defence Force in Mizoram, India. 

•The Indian contingent will be represented by 6/1 GORKHA RIFLES while the Japanese contingent will be represented by 32 Infantry Regiment of the Japanese Ground Self Defence Force. Exercise 'DHARMA GUARDIAN-2018' will be yet another step in deepening strategic ties including closer defence cooperation between the two countries. 

4) Stephen Hawking’s Final Book “Brief Answers To The Big Questions” Launched
•Stephen Hawking’s final work “Brief Answers to the Big Questions” was launched. It has been completed by the theoretical physicist’s family and academic colleagues, with material drawn from his vast personal archive. It tackles various issues including the existence of God, potential time travel and human intelligence during the next 100 years. 

5) Wildlife Photographer Of The Year 2018 Bagged By Marsel Van Oosten
•The powerful image of a pair of golden snub-nosed monkeys seated in contemplation amid iridescent foliage has been awarded one of the most prestigious prizes in photography, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018. The image, called "The Golden Couple," was captured by Dutch photographer Marsel van Oosten in the Qinling Mountains of southwestern China – the endangered monkeys’ only habitat. 

6) Arshdeep Singh Wins Top Wildlife Photo Award In Junior Category
•Arshdeep Singh, a 10-year-old boy from Punjab, has won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award in 10 Years and Under category given by UK's Natural History Museum. 

•He won the award for the picture titled 'Pipe Owls', which showed two spotted owlets sitting inside an old waste-pipe in Punjab's Kapurthala. Arshdeep has been taking photographs since he was six.
