1) World Day Against Trafficking In Persons: 30 July
•In 2013, the General Assembly held a high-level meeting to appraise the Global Plan of Action. Member States also adopted the resolution and designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons.
2) Indian Railways Launches ‘Mission Satyanishtha’
•The first-of-its-kind event was inaugurated by Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board. The Satyanishtha mission aims to sensitise all railway employees about the need to adhere to good ethics and to maintain high standards of integrity at work.
3) Meghalaya Milk Mission Launched In Shillong
•The amount sanctioned for the project is of Rs 215 crores through National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). The amount will be utilised for various training under dairy farm, chilling centre and purchase of milch animal. The Milk Mission will enable the state to substitute the import of milk with the state’s own production.
4) Unified Commanders’ Conference 2018 Starts In New Delhi
•During the conference, under the chairmanship of the Chief of Integrated Staff (CISC), a large number of Tri-Services issues would be deliberated thoroughly to arrive at a solution to challenges faced and to evolve plans for the future.
5) Invest India And UAE Ministry Sign MoU For Technological Cooperation
•The MoU was signed in the presence of Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu and H.E. Ahmad Sultan Al Falahi, Minister Plenipotentiary – Commercial Attache, UAE Embassy at the India leg of GovHack series of World Government Summit.
6) Mohun Bagan ‘Ratna’ Conferred On Pradip Chowdhury
•He is the 18th recipient of Mohun Bagan ‘Ratna’ award. This award was first given to Sailen Manna in 2001.
•Other awardees are:
1. Goalkeeper Shilton Paul– Best Footballer for the year 2017-18,
2. Sudip Chatterjee– Best Cricketer,
3. Sourav Das– Best Youth Footballer Player,
4. Special award to – Rahim Ali for his performance in the U-17 World Cup.
7) Yasar Dogu International, Turkey: Bajrang Punia Wins Gold
•Medals won by Women wrestlers:
1. Gold Medal: Pinki (55kg category).
2. Silver Medal: Seema (53 kilogram) and Pooja Dhanda (57 kilogram), Rajni (72 kilogram).
3. Bronze Medal: Sarita (62 kilogram), Sangeeta Phogat.
