1) Yogi Adityanath declared new Chief Minister of U.P.
•Yogi Adityanath has been named as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister designate at a meeting of newly-elected MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 312 in total, in Lucknow.
•He has been a Member of Parliament from the Gorakhpur Constituency, Uttar Pradesh for five consecutive terms since 1998. Keshav Maurya and Dinesh Sharma will be his two deputy CMs. Yogi Adityanath, Keshav Maurya and Dinesh Sharma will be sworn in tomorrow.
2) Punjab to provide 33 percent reservation for women in govt jobs
•Punjab cabinet has decided to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in all government jobs. The cabinet also decided to increase representation of women in the Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies from the present 33 per cent to 50 per cent.
3) March 16: Indian-American Appreciation Day recognised by Kansas
•The U.S. state of Kansas has recognised March 16 as ‘Indian-American Appreciation Day’ to honour an Indian techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla who was killed last month in a racially-motivated hate crime.
4) Social Security Agreement between India and Brazil
•India and Brazil initialed the text of the Social Security Agreement (SSA) in Brazil. This SSA is an outcome of the meetings of BRICS Labour & Employment Ministers held on 9 June 2016 in Geneva and on 27-28 September 2016 in New Delhi.
•The SSA between India and Brazil once in force by early 2018 will be the first such agreement between the BRICS countries.
•As per the agreed text, detached workers of the two countries are exempted from making social security contributions in either countries so long as they were making such contributions in their respective countries.

•India and Mauritius today held talks on expanding bilateral defence and security cooperation to effectively deal with the threat of terrorism.
•Ways to explore defence ties figured during talks between Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and his Mauritian counterpart Anerood Jugnauth at New Delhi today.
•India and Mauritius have close cooperations in a range of areas including trade, defence and security. India has close defence relations with Mauritius, particularly in the area of maritime security.
•The Indian Navy has been closely engaged with the National Coast Guard of Mauritius to protect common interests in the Indian Ocean region.
6) Shweta Rathore wins Miss India title in Body building
•Shweta Rathore, the silver medallist at the 2015 Asian body building event, has bagged the gold at the national body building Championship in New Delhi.
•Shweta, who hails from Jaipur, now also has three titles to her name Miss Mumbai, Miss Maharashtra and Miss India.
•Her next assignment is Asian Championship, to be held in Bhutan in August and then World Championship in December.
•“I want to thank all those who guided me and without which I could not have achieved this feat,” Shweta, who has a B.Tech degree, said.
